Grainger VIP Impact Report
delighted that she accepted our offer to join the faculty. Your support of astronomy was crucial to our successful recruitment of Melinda as a postdoc in 2020, and I am deeply grateful for your commitment to astronomy. The department will use your gift to support another young astronomer in the coming year, and I look forward to updating you on this in the future. The Astronomy, Mathematics, and Physics Library continues to serve students from all three departments, as well as students from other disciplines in the natural and computer sciences. The recent merger of these three disciplines into one library home has increased the number of students utilizing this resource and brought a strong student presence to the fourth floor of Chamberlin Hall. The departments tell me that the transition was smooth, and the Department of Physics will be strategically adding to its collection in the coming years. Your gift to their Energy Resources Collection will help them continue to grow this area of our library. Your commitment to the university helps us continue our tradition of excellence in research and teaching. Thank you for your steadfast support. On, Wisconsin!
