The Rath Foundation - An Enduring Legacy at UW-Madison

I hope this message finds you in good health. I wanted to take a moment to express my appreciation for the transformative impact that the Rath scholarship has had on my educational journey and my commitment to health care in Wisconsin. Throughout my time at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, I have been surrounded by an exceptional community of kind, down-to-earth, and brilliant peers, mentors, and physicians. Their unwavering commitment to providing the best health care to the people of Wisconsin has been nothing short of inspiring. The support and mentorship I received during my training were instrumental in shaping my path. It was during this time that I found my calling — to return to the University of Wisconsin to practice medicine and, in doing so, to give back to the institution that had nurtured my growth. This journey has also allowed me to take on the role of educating future physicians, passing on the knowledge and values instilled in me by my mentors. The financial relief of my scholarship liberated and enabled me to choose a practice that aligns with my values and aspirations, which is academic medicine. Without the weight of debt, I can dedicate myself to providing high-quality health care and nurturing the next generation of physicians. Thank you for your generous support. Your philanthropy is not just a gift to me; it's a gift to the future learners and patients of Wisconsin. I am committed to carrying forward the legacy of excellence and service that you have helped me cultivate, and I hope to make a meaningful impact on health care in Wisconsin.
