The Rath Foundation - An Enduring Legacy at UW-Madison
My experience at the UW for both undergraduate and medical school has been instrumental to my growth not only thanks to the outstanding resources, but even more importantly the great faculty and people that make up the university. This scholarship has shaped my desire to inspire and help others, and having a lessened financial burden has enabled me to explore avenues to benefit those around me. Importantly, it has allowed me to fully pursue my goals, which has been crucial for my growth. I am currently a fourth-year medical student at the UW with significant teaching experience, research presentations and publications, and medical training. However, my most rewarding accomplishment has been making important connections, whether it be patients or fellow community members. These experiences inspire me to continue working to benefit those around me. Your generosity inspired me to donate to causes that matter to me and give back in other meaningful ways. For example, I regularly volunteer at the MEDiC free clinics and tutor fellow students. Additionally, I have founded a free student review series for medical students to help them with exams and ease the transition between various phases of medical school. I hope to improve wellness and make students more prepared, while also inspiring them to pursue their vision to benefit others. Rath scholarships are important in ensuring students can pursue their passions and fully explore their creativity to benefit their communities and the world at large. These scholarships empower students to inspire others and help create a better world for all. The relief of student debt has been life changing, as I do not have to the constant worry about repaying loans and can fully immerse myself in my training and extracurricular activities. Through this, I am able to give back to my community in ways I couldn’t otherwise. Thank you for providing this opportunity to pursue my dreams and give back to my community. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your generous gift. Your work has inspired me and my fellow Rath scholarship recipients to give back, both now and in the future. I hope to create my own scholarships someday, inspired by your generosity.
