The Rath Foundation - An Enduring Legacy at UW-Madison

My experience at the UW has been made memorable by the people I get to see and work with every day. From my teachers to my classmates, I have always felt supported and inspired by others. It is such an amazing community, and I am so grateful to have become a part of it! The Rath scholarship completely changed my experience for the better. I was able to truly be a student and fully engage in all UW Law School has to offer. Also, I have been able to develop an amazing relationship to the professor I work with through the scholarship. By the end of my time at the UW, I will be a lawyer. I have had the opportunity of a lifetime representing low-income clients in family court and will have organized a symposium for the Wisconsin Journal of Law, Gender and Society. My time at the clinic has been only one way I have shown my gratitude for the scholarship, and I would love to continue to support the clinic in the future, either through volunteering or by helping fund undergraduate volunteers and translators. Rath scholarships help students feel fully supported in their academic pursuits. It is like having someone at your back encouraging you the entire time. I have felt free to explore my interests, rather than worry about paying back loans. My lack of student loan debt has also given me the freedom to get married to the love of my life without worrying about crippling debt. We are extremely grateful! Thank you for believing in me! Thank you so much for all your support and what you do! It has been a blessing and an incredible opportunity.
