The Rath Foundation - An Enduring Legacy at UW-Madison
Because of the Rath scholarship, I was able to help a clinical law professor in the Frank J. Remington Center with her academic research. While researching criminal laws and regulations, I also learned about the health care experiences of elderly prisoners. It was gratifying to assist in shedding light on some of those experiences, and it helped me to see the impact that the practice of law can have on real people. Shortly after graduation, I became very sick and was unable to work for over a year. Because I didn't have a large student debt hanging over my head, I was able to take the time I needed to recover.
