The Rath Foundation - An Enduring Legacy at UW-Madison
UW–Madison has always had a special influence on me, as I am a third-generation badger. The Wisconsin Idea has greatly impacted my life, and I knew that I wanted to be a Badger my whole life. The friends I made at the UW, coupled with the education I received, greatly impacted my life. The Rath scholarship enabled me to go to law school, as I would not have been able to attend UW–Madison if not for this scholarship. It has led me to an incredible legal career, which I am proud to say is based in Madison. I have had an amazing legal career so far, joining my dream firm in a practice area that I am passionate about. I have been able to do impactful work at a national scale while contributing to my local community through commercial and pro bono work. The Rath scholarship inspired me to give back: my friends and I created a scholarship at our high school. I look forward to making future contributions to the UW. Rath scholarships are life changing in that they enable students to receive a world-class education and focus on their development without any additional burdens. Further, following graduation, the lack of student debt allows greater flexibility and access to opportunities, including those in public service. I have been able to make significant strides since law school due to the lack of college debt. I was able to explore certain professional and personal opportunities due to this added flexibility. Thank you for the opportunity to be a Rath scholar and continue my UW journey and commitment to Madison. Your efforts are greatly appreciated and truly life changing.
