The Rath Foundation - An Enduring Legacy at UW-Madison
Anonymous '04 Niagara, Wisconsin
My time at UW–Madison was made exceptional by the variety of people and the well-rounded academic experience. Traditional rigorous academics combined with a vibrant college life created a compelling undergraduate education. The Rath scholarship provided a sense of empowerment; given my family would not have to support me. It was the first step on my way to financial independence. There’s not enough space here to capture all that I’ve been able to accomplish thanks to the scholarship award. In short, my degree was a prerequisite for a career in investment banking. This career path has allowed me to create a wake to welcome fellow Badgers into the industry. Having just read The Billionaire Who Was I have been thinking about the Rath Foundation scholarship and am inspired to think big about how I can make an impact on future generations. I was very fortunate to not take on student debt, which opens doors and provides a sense of freedom and choice that many college graduates are not able to experience. Thank you for this selfless generosity. Thank you for my scholarship and for providing an unexpected boost to students’ confidence, security, and motivation. Knowing someone believes in you enough to invest in your education and future is an incredible gift.
