The Rath Foundation - An Enduring Legacy at UW-Madison

The Rath scholarship enabled me to fully immerse myself in the UW experience. I was able to prioritize my studies, making the dean's list all eight semesters I was at Madison. Additionally, I was able to get involved with extracurriculars such as the Actuarial Science and Gymnastics Clubs; the latter for which I served as president and learned valuable leadership and organizational skills. My UW education has been instrumental in my career success. The career fairs and networking events allowed me to build relationships with potential employers and culminated in a job offer at a local employer (TruStage), where I still work today. The strong actuarial program provided me the knowledge and discipline that resulted in my becoming an Associate of the Society of Actuaries in winter 2018. Staying in the area after graduation has also given me the opportunity to interact with current students by attending employee presentations and other events. I'm incredibly grateful for having been a recipient of the Rath scholarship. Having much of the financial burden of college alleviated opened up tremendous opportunities both during school and afterward.
