The Rath Foundation - An Enduring Legacy at UW-Madison

My experience at the UW was memorable for a number of reasons, including combining a business and sustainability curriculum, studying abroad in Bhutan, lasting friendships, and of course Badger football games, which were all made possible by my generous gift from the Rath Foundation. Simply, the Rath scholarship allowed me to attend the UW and take advantage of opportunities that wouldn't have been available to me otherwise. Because of the Rath scholarship, I was afforded experiences like study abroad that expanded my horizons and opened my mind to become a global citizen and lifelong learner. As a direct admit to the Wisconsin School of Business, I knew that I wanted to channel my passion for sustainability and stewardship through the opportunities provided by the business world. Specifically, a UW–Madison education helped me identify opportunities to utilize business operations in order to benefit the world. Having a Rath scholarship motivated me to work even harder towards success. Someday I hope to have the resources and success that allow me to create a similar foundation that can have the impact to young students' lives like the Rath scholarship impacted mine. The Rath scholarship allowed me to start my personal and professional life on a clean slate without student debt. Being able to focus on career development and invest in bettering myself, as opposed to paying student loans, has been a significant advantage for which I am deeply grateful. Thank you for generously making my goals and dreams attainable. I strive to live up to your example and expectations every day.
