GRAINGER WISCONSIN DISTINGUISHED GRADUATE FELLOWSHIP
ANDRES RIOS RINCON MBAX’25 After graduating from Universidad Javeriana in 2013 with a bachelor of industrial engineering degree and a bachelor’s degree in economics in 2014, I began my career at Quala, a consumer product goods company in Bogota, Colombia, as a demand planner. There, I honed my skills in forecasting, materials, and production planning for leading food brands across Latin America, while also gaining valuable business acumen and teamwork experience. Building on this foundation, I transitioned to Jerónimo Martins — a global convenience store chain — where I served as a supply chain coordinator. In this role, I led a project aimed at automating store replenishment orders, leveraging demand profiles for individual SKUs at each of the company’s 600+ stores in the country. In 2021, I relocated to Cali, Colombia, to join AB InBev as logistics manager, overseeing distribution operations at the country’s largest beer distribution center. Here, I managed the distribution process for over 18,000 B2B clients, guiding a team of 15 direct and 323 indirect employees to ensure cost-efficient and timely delivery while maintaining exceptional service levels. Driven by a desire to expand my global business acumen, I enrolled in the Wisconsin School of Business MBA program. This decision allows me to immerse myself in diverse perspectives from students and faculty worldwide. My summer internship with Apple in Austin, Texas, gave me the opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills acquired through my MBA coursework. In my leisure time, I pursue activities such as running, cycling, and traveling.
