Grainger VIP Impact Report

Supply Chain Management Opportunity for Outreach Program Endowment Fund. The focus of these marketing efforts was to expand the center’s visibility and promote the graduate program's improved rank (to number 13) in Gartner’s most recent survey of graduate programs in supply chain management. For the first time since the pandemic, the center was able to operate both undergraduate and graduate global trip experiences. In January 2023, center assistant director Blake Bishop and I led a trip of 15 students to the Czech Republic and eastern Germany. We explored the automotive industry, visited DHL’s global air hub, and met with U.S. embassy representatives, among other activities. In March 2023, center-affiliated faculty (and former director) Verda Blythe MS’02 and Blake Bishop led 16 undergraduate students on a trip to Norway to explore the energy industry there. These trips were funded in part by the Corporate Donations Fund and the Opportunity Endowment Fund. We are incredibly fortunate for the resources made possible by the center’s endowment, and we are the envy of supply chain programs across the country because of it. The events described here would not be possible without the support of The Grainger Foundation, including the funding of my position through the Directorship of Grainger Center Fund in Supply Chain Management.
